Where is Cardigan Mountain?

Relative Location - The distance between the AMC Cardigan Lodge to the summit of Cardigan is 0.32 miles Straight up. Going up the trail would be about 2.5 miles. Newfound lake is about 7.19 Miles to the top of Cardigan where the crows fly. From the middle of lake winnipesaukee it is 28.82 miles to the summit of cardigan. Cardigan is also located in the town of Orange, New Hampshire where there are many mountains to hike around it.

Absolute Location - On the summit of Cardigan Mountain the Latitude is 43 degrees 39 min and 22 sec North. The longitude is 71 degrees 54min 52.47 sec West. The Latitude and Longitude for the High Mountain cabin on Cardigan is 43 degrees 38 min and 45.73 sec North. The Longitude is 71 degrees 54 min 39.64 sec West.

Physical Geography! Cardigan is a big mountain. It has lots of streams with bridgers over. There was also Welton Falls where we did our water study. On top of Cardigan/Fire screw there were lots of rock piles called Karens. They are used for when it is foggy and hard to see. They are easier to see than regular trail markers. Another example of physical geography! Is the Alpine bog.

Cultural Geography! At the Cardigan AMC lodge there are many things to do there. There are many delicious foods there like spaghetti and meatballs and cheeseburgers. When you hike at the AMC cardigan lodge you donut always have to hike alone. Trial guides cam come with you and teach you about Cardigan and the surrounding area. They can also bring you on a compass course to teach you how to use a compass.
