Cardigan Mountain is located EastofOrange, North of Grafton, and West of Alexandra. The AMC Lodge is East of the Mountain, and the AMC Cardigan Mountain High Cabin is southeast of the Mountain’s summit.

Cardigan Mountain is located at 43 degrees 38 minutes and 59.03 seconds North. And it is 71 degrees 54 minutes and 53.27 seconds West. The elevation is 3,126 feet.

Physical Geography! At Cardigan, you can see the trees starting to change colors, drifting from green to red, orange and yellow. Not only that, there are many types of trees! Spruce, Birch, Hemlock, Pine, Maple, and Fir are all types of trees that you can find there in many different sizes, colors, and shapes. When you climb up the 3,000 footer, the hard rock at the summit and the wind faster than ever, that is the feeling of climbing Mt. Cardigan.

Cultural Geography! At Cardigan, you don’t just have to climb the mountain, you can stay at the AMC Lodge! While you are there, you can get delicious meals for the whole day while you are able to hike, walk, run, or bike through the trails. And you don’t have to go alone, you can go with an AMC member to teach you about things you might not know about. Also with an AMC member, you could take their compass course where you will go up the old ski trails to find a rusted old car that used to power a ski lift back many years ago. So, go to Cardigan to not only experience the mountain, but the other amazing activities.
