Yellow group Day 2 Block 1 Cardigan Mountain is in Alexandria, New Hampshire, but 45 minutes (29.8 mi) south-west to Cardigan is Grafton, New Hampshire. The Cardigan Mountain summit is 3,155 feet above sea level, and the summit latitude and longitude coordinates are: 43 degrees, 38 seconds, and 59 minutes N. 071 degrees, 54 seconds , 53 minutes W. The AMC Lodge is located 1.8 miles from the summit of Cardigan Mountain.0.3 miles away from the summit of Cardigan is the AMC Cardigan Mountain high club. And at the very tippity top of the summit of Cardigan is the Cardigan Mountain fire tower. The whole mountain of cardigan is actually split into Alexandria, and Orange, New Hampshire. But not split straight down the middle.

What is Cardigan like?

Physical geography are natural occurrences like how Cardigan mountain has a moss and vegetation covered base, the whole mountain has edible plants such as the indian cucumber and watercress. Welton falls has a constantly flowing stream of clear water pouring over into a little lagoon which drops off another ledge. At Cardigan you can find all sorts of different plants lurking around every mushroom. Animals roam the mountain from birds to salimanders to baby moles. Mud fills the waterdown trails and small streams and rivers flow just beyond the trail.good weather and soil can help plants such as rattlesnake plantain, witches butter, lichen and moss grow healthy.

The AMC lodge at Cardigan is a wooden white structure with a porch and a driveway at the base of Cardigan. The Cardigan trails are man made dirt packed roads that lead straight past the campsites and port-a-potys and up the mountain where you can find a fire tower, and the AMC mountain high club cabin. Solar panels line the small field outside the AMC lodge , and provide power. There are bear boxes at the campsites and stone walls covered in moss line specific rectangles that might have been a part of a building at one point. Bridges, plankings, blazes and even cairns at the summit. Scotch pines and apple trees are trees of very few that we spotted. By the old ski area there is a rusty car and googlie eyes on an old tree. We went to Cardigan for three days, day 1day 2 day 3.
