On our trip, we went tide pooling at Odiorne. We found a lot of crabs, some lobster, and a lot of other stuff. We also got to play Wiffle ball on the grass and football. After our games and tide pooling, we boarded the bus to go home. On the way home, we stopped and got ice creams, and they were huge. Then we made it home and i went to the bathroom then played cards until the bell rang and we went home.
The tides come because of the gravitational pull from the moon that moves the waves and the tides when it goes slowly out and then slowly comes back up.
At Odiorne there are different zones. It starts off at the dry zone where the picnic tables are and it is where we kept our back packs. Then there is the black zone. The black zone doesn't get completely underneath the water and it is covered in cyano bacteria which makes it black. Then we have the white zone. The white zone is covered with barnacles that hurt your feet. And also are white so the rock can be white in places. Then there is the brown zone underneath the water. It is under the water basically all the time. Then we have the red zone. It is underneath the water all the time but maybe will peak out a little bit. Then there is the subtitle zone. The subtitle zone is underneath the water all of the time. It is where fish are and other sea creatures that need water all the time to survive
When we where tide pooling i saw a lot of crabs. They where everywhere, tiny ones big ones. I caught one that had eggs all on its stomach so i just put it back down where I found it. I also saw a lot of lobster traps. Some where broken and some where not. But there was a lot. Coley found a daisy brittle star and put it in my bag and it looked really weird. It was so small and I don't know how he caught it. Then I saw jackson accidentally crush lucas when we where playing football. After that I saw the biggest kitty size ice cream ever. They where huge for a kitty size.
