Mt. Cardigan is located North/West of Concord NH, close by the small town of Bristol, which is about a 1hr drive from Hopkinton NH. Mt.Cardigan, is also located by a small AMC lodge at the base of the mountain, by Welton falls, which is a small waterfall , close to Newfound lake. The base of Mt Cardigan is located in Alexandra NH, with the latitude of N 43 Degrees 38 minutes 59.0 seconds and longitude of W 071 Degrees 52 minutes 38.9 seconds and the elevation of 1390ft. And north of Cardigan, is it's sister mountain, Mt Firescrew. With the latitude of N 43 Degrees 39 minutes 25.2 seconds and longitude of W 071 Degrees 54 seconds 11 minutes and the elevation of 2658ft.
Mt. Cardigan is a beautiful mountain, south of its Sister mountain, Mt. Firescrew. On both mountains you will find yourself wandering past beautiful trees, and lush century old moss. Near by the base of the mountain, there is a breathtaking hike, that will take you to the astonishing Welton falls. At the top of both Mt. Cardigan, and Mt. Firescrew, you will find yourself gazing down at magnificent fall colors as you stand on the cold rock faces encrusting the giant mountains.
Mt. Cardigan is a mountain with a whole lot of history. At the base of the Mountain there is an Amc lodge, with a warm cozy environment, and some really yummy french toast. Mt. Cardigan is also scattered with old stone walls, where fields used to be, and the remains of old cellar holes left behind. The mountains beaten trails scatter the mountain. The old car turned into a ski lift rusting away at the top of a hill.
