Day Two of the Trip

September 23th 2021

Day two was a fun and medium-level challenge for the group. We started off having snacks while we did a fast but learning compass activity. We started our hike soon after being the last group to start. We mostly stuck to the Clark trail which was the safest and quickest way up. Sprinkles were on and off during the hike and made the rocks slippery, which caused us to be more cautious. When we were almost to the summit we stopped and PJ’s ledge where we ate our lunch took pictures and enjoyed the view. When we finally got to the top we took multiple drawings and ran around enjoying the windy rock top. On our way down after going through the alpine bog and finding Sundew, Molly, one of our classmates feel and twisted her ankle. After a long time of low walking and Molly pushing through the pain, we decided to leave her with other parents, a map, a GPS, and the parent’s cars when they got down. Finally, when we found the bus, we were almost 15 minutes late. To finish it off, the bus ride was fun and amazing since I was with my friends.

Day two was easily my favorite day because of the risks, views, and climbs. I chose regions. Regions are all about different areas of land based on the unique qualities. I chose regions for this day because when we reached the peak of Cardigan, it was completely a rock top with almost no water or plants. Another region was the alpine bog which mostly covered Firescrue, It was covered in lichen, moss, and with much rock. And of course, the forest was also one, with many trees and more.
