Describing Cardigan Mountain

Cultural - At Cardigan Mountain - there is the lodge, the fire tower, the solar panels, and Welton Falls. And along the hike you may even come across a cellar hole, a geocache, and an old ski lift! The summit - as we trek up the steep rock to the summit, wind whipping our raincoats into shreds, we see the tip of the cairn in the distance, marking our success. Marvelous fog coats the treeline. The small pools of water in the crevices of rocks, still warm from the late morning sun.

Physical - Hemlocks - a tree native to the Cardigan area, there are thousands of these scattered across the mountain. There are mushrooms, all kinds of maples, and even an edible plant - the Indian Cucumber. Welton falls is a magnificent waterfall to come across along the hike. With beautiful wet moss, humid, but brisk air sitting still amongst fog.

We were there for three days, day 1 and then again on day 2 and finally, on, day 3.
