We saw the amc lodge and then started hiking where we saw a pretty pond and some wolf's milk fungi. There were lots of leaves and fallen down trees and we had snacks on big boulders. I saw really pretty views and some purple mushrooms, but I’m not sure what they were called. We reached the summit of Firescrew and Cardigan, and I signed my name on the Cardigan fire tower. I found reindeer moss and saw Canon off in the distance. When we got back down, we played camouflage and 500 by the lodge, then we took the bus home.
On day two we walked past the AMC lodge and saw a pretty pond and some wolf milk fungi which was really cool. We had lunch on a rock and saw a bunch of big fallen trees. Maybe there was a storm? Day two actually ties in well with the theme Regions because once we were above tree level, we neared the Alpine Region where there’s lots of different kinds of moss and there are many short pine trees with broken branches. When we went back to the bottom we entered the Northern Hardwood Region, where there are many more tall trees and a bigger variety of plants, trees such as beach, maple, oak, and more pine are in the Northern Hardwood Region, which there were many of. There were also many watershed reigions there.
