What was Cardigan like?
Three weeks ago Half of the students from HMHS went on a field trip to Cardigan lodge in Alexandria, New Hampshire. On the second day we went hiking up the mountain, when we got to the top of Mt Cardigan after four miles of hiking our location was 43 degrees 38 minutes 59 seconds North 71 degrees 54 minutes and 54 seconds West and 3,155 Feet up! Mt cardigan is five miles west of Newfound lake.
Physical
Mt Cardigan is a 3000 foot summit which at the top is very flat and rocky which also has many plants and is home to many watersheds going down the mountain. Which forms into streams at the top since there are trees at the top there are many bird nests at the top of it and on the cliffs. At night there are very pretty views like the sunset and the afternoon sun blazing on your skin feels very refreshing. What was the coolest was the monarch butterflies. They had very cool patterns on the wings that looked like faces even.
Cultural
At this Resort there are a few ski trails and slopes which are man made. There are man made rock walls that serve as a property boundary which is used for so there is not by accident trespassing incidents. At the Cardigan lodge there are solar panels to power the lodge which is man made. At the summit of Mt Cardigan there is a fire tower which is a man made look out over the whole place. There is a man made car in a part of the woods which is very cool because it shows that there is a broken down car there.
We were at Cardigan for three days Day 1, Day 2, Day 3
