Day 2
Day two was a very exciting day, we hiked all the way up to the top
of Mt.Cardigan and Mt.Firescrew, some groups did not make it all the
way but it sounded like they still enjoyed the experience and passed by many watersheads whale on their hike. On day 2
we played more games, and did riddles again. But one game that stood out
was the find the clothespin game which was a game where we selected a
small area then tom hide a clothespin and then all of the children and adults of my group searched for it.
One bad thing that happened whale we were making our way down the mountain was that MH sprained her ankle, and we
had to sprint down the mountain leaving MH and JG behind to get back to the bus in time, lucky both
their parents were there so they were okay and made it down safely.
On day 2 we saw many examples of regions such as northern hardwood, boreal, and the alpine zone. Each one of these were each very different. The northern hardwood region had dense woods, including pine, birch and hemlock trees. The boreal region had less dense woods but still had trees and lots of life. Lastly the alpine region/zone had little to no trees but did have algae and moss along the floor of the top of the mountain.
