On day one we did many things, we drove to the AMC (Appalachian mountain club) base lodge and played mountain baseball then
did an equipment check, we made sure we had two bottles of water, rain gear, food, and clothing to keep warm just in case.
About and hour later we set off on our hike on the back 80 loop, passing by and eating afue cucumber roots, an old cellar hole,
very cool eroded caves in rocks, and a huge firepit, My group (LC, RA, JQ, MH, LR, NC, RO)enjoyed the hike by doing riddles and
playing games. Along the trail we drew pictures of things that we saw. Tom (our trail guide) was a great help to figure out what
to draw.
I think that the events that happened on day one are a great example of movement, one of the five themes of geography. I think this because we saw evidence right before our eyes as we hiked along the trail that humans themselves had made, a cellar hole that shows us that humans have moved to a different area, trail markings and a firepit that was in the middle of this woods whitch was a very cool spot to take a rest after a long days of hiking.
