JUNE 7 2022
We first got on the bus. It took 1 and a half hours to get there. When we got there and all got in the water and tied pooled. We saw crabs and other things. Then we all played games on the field. After that we got on the bus and then got ice cream. Then we went home.
Tides happen because of the moon wich pulls the water and the tide comes into on the opsite side of the ocean. Tides vary in size and time every day and high tide happens every 12 hours ish like low tide. Tides change alot of things about the environment.
The splash zone is almost never fully submerged and is only submerged during hight tide. The reason the rocks are black is because of a bactirea. The hight intertiadal zone is below the splash zone and is only covered for a brief time each day. The only life that is here is hardy creatures suck as barnicles and crabs who don’t need much water. The middle inter tiadal zone is covered about half the time and hase thing like plants sea stars, And crabs. The low intertidal zone is almost always covered except for low, low tide and has things like baby lobsters.
I saw crabs and was able to cach them. I also saw kelp. Plus we saw alot of snails and we managed to tikle them. I also saw a few very fast and we were not able to cach them.
I think the most variety was in the red zone. This is because there are rocks there for the barnicles and also there are snails there. There are also crabs there and lobsters. Another thing is that there are fish there when the tide is over the red zone. There are also some creatures in the pools of the rocks and thire are also sea stars there too.
