Where is Cardigan?
Mount Cardigan is located in Orange, New Hampshire. On shen valley road. The absolute location is N: 43degrees 38seconds 59minutes W: 071degrees 54seconds 51minutes 1372ft. Cardigan is also about 120 miles North of Massachtusets. Or 44 miles of hopkinton Middle High school.
What is Cardigan like?
Cultural
As you pull into Cardigan lodge, if you look to your left, you will see a couple rows of solar panels. Then if you look to your right you will see the parking area where the parents will park for the day while they hike. Then straight ahead is the lodge which is where we would sleep in a normal year. On the nature loop there is a small circle of logs that we used as seats while we did a tree auction.
Physical
To the left of the lodge if you are on the way out, there is a patch of grass on a pretty steep hill with no trees. Dead ahead of that is where the trees begin. If you were to walk across the road to get there and a little ways down the path is a pond where we reviewed each day. Then on the welton falls day, we hiked to the falls, there we saw some places where the water was deeper and some little pools where the water was shallow. On the way to the summit there were some spots with a ton of trees then there would be no trees and all rock.
