We went to Odiorne point on two buses, bus 1 and bus 2, when we got on the bus we gathered together and set our stuff by the dry zone. After putting on sacraficial shoes most people went down to go tide pooling or played Wiffle ball for the entirety of the trip. When going down to the tidepools the amount of seaweed was multiplying so were snails. While in the water you could see a lot of different creatures in the water or on rocks. After a while of tidepooling some students saw the drowned forest while others stayed in the dry zone and went to the playground or played games. At the end of the trip we got Kiddie sized ice cream and bus one ate it on the way back home while bus two ate it at the Ice cream parlor. When the home bus one played games or worked in advisory while bus two got home just in time for the bell to ring.
Tides are the product of the moon's gravitational pull on the earth, two parts of the earth bulge out and that causes high tide, but when the part of the Earth you are on is where there is no bulge it's low tide in that area of the world.
The first of the four zones is the black zone, this zone consists of cyanobacteria which is very slippery when wet. The second zone is the white zone which inhabits an abundance of barnacles. The third zone is the brown zone where dried seaweed and snails can be found. And last but not least the fourth zone is called the Red zone or the subtidal zone, this is where many and most of the creatures such as sea urchins, sea star, lobsters, crabs, etc.
At Odiorne point I saw things like Irish Moss, Periwinkle snails, Limpet, Rockweed and barnacles were found almost everywhere and were found by multiple people. I did find things like crabs, lobsters, and sea Urchins that were found by people who were ok with touching them but I did not touch those things. I did see the drowned forest.
The most variety was in the Red zone because the red zone is always submerged underwater and this makes it more inhabitable for things like crabs or lobsters who prey on small creachers like snails. Another reason this is good is because they can swim away from predators.

We found limpets in either the lower brown zone or red zone stuck on rocks |
