We got on buses and went to Odiorne it was an hour 30 minutes bus ride. We walked over to the tide pools went down all of the zones. Black zone, white zone brown zone, redzone. We caught crabs, sea urchin, star fish, tunacates. We put the animals in the tank and played some games on the field. One hour later we put the creatures back and went to go get ice cream. We went back to school after ice cream we went back to school and hung ou in out advisory playing trashchketball.
Tide are actually a gravitational pull pulling what up. The way it does this is by The moon has a pull and it makes a water buldge. the buldge of water is what causes high tides, on the other side of the earth it is low tides. It takes aproximentaly 6 hours for tides to change. When the earth rotates it rotates into that budlge of high tides
Bllack zone The black zone is also known as the splash zone when it is high tides it gets splashed. On the black zones is cyanobacteria. Cyanobacteria is still being learned about. Scientist are still trying to figure out if it is algae or bacteria. White zone The white zone still has cyanobactria on it. There are lot of differences though, some differences are the barnacles. The reason why it is called the white zone is because it has barnacles on it. Barnacles attach to the rock and when its high tides the arms come out to get food. Barnacles glue there head o the rock and live there for life. Bown zone The Brown zzone is called the brown zone because is has rockweed and other seaweed. The rocks are covered in sea weed the seaweed makes it look brown. The brown zone is ver VERY slippery. Red zone The red zone is covered in irish moss. Irish moss is used to thicken thongs like pudding. Irish moss is red of course thats why its called the red zone. The red zone is infested in Irish moss.
On this trip I saw Alot of sea cretures such as sea urchins
