On the second day, we got to school and the bus was not late this time. me and my friend headed straight to the back, where we love to sit. After sitting down for ten minutes we were off onces again. The way up was like the same as the day before blue sky and a nice breeze. When we finally made it up there, all our classmates rushed out of the bus. I look around and it was the perfect day to hike! We met up with Izzy, and another student who was not there tagged along with us.
are instructed got set up and then headed to the trails with use. We first discussed that we should go up Firesrew first then head over to Cardigan. We head up the path and played some fun games, such as trivia some guessing games, and one was we share things about ourselves. It was pretty fun but the worst part was how we had to to stop every five minutes to take a break!!! Most of the break happend when we were at the steep part of the hike.
So are hiking group disused to be named the hobbits just for fun. We found a lot of hobbit holes that we could have lived in. We also had first lunch and second lunch because we got really tired and eat lunch at a fake summit. On Firescrew there were so many fake summits but once we made it to the top of Firescrew we sat and eat a great meal.
We had a dissisond if we wanted to go back down from Firescrew or go to the top of the Cardigan. We made the conclusion to go to Cardigan. It felt like we just sat down now we have to go and move again. we started to clime but we show another group said hello then goodbye. Then keep moving finally are group made it to the top. It was so pretty up there and such a nice breeze The view was amazing one of the best i had seen. I tryed to sing my name on the fire tower but it did not relly work. I also did a cartweel at the top for fun.
We started to head down about halfway we reach a fork in the road, we could either go on a shorter trail but hard or, a little bit longer trail but easier. Of corse, we chose the short one we rushed down the steep hill. Summit fell so much I lost count, and Harper almost twisted her ankle. But by the end of the day, we made it down and back onto the bus where I fell asleep, after hiking two mountains in 5 hours, and did not wake up tell we were back.
Regions at Cardigan Mountain
For day two I thought it was region fit the day best because there was a pretty unique place that we hiked to like, the summit of Firesrew, which had small trees and a lot of mud on it. We also went to the bare rock summit of Cardigan which has no trees but a huge fire tower on top of it. Some other places were the AMC loge, with solar panels and a dirt road that we started at to clime Cardigan and Firescrew, On our way down from the mountain there was a ski trail that we went on that was pretty stepped on of the steepest thing at Cardigan. We saw a region of Hemlock tree to.
