Three weeks ago we went on a grade field trip to Mt. cardigan. It was three days long. After the field trip we learned about the five themes of geography. One of the five themes is location; there is relative and absolute location. The Absolute location of the cardigan fire tower is 43 degrees 38 minutes 58 seconds north, and 71 degrees 54 minutes 51 seconds west. The relative location of Cardigan mountain is in Alexandria New Hampshire which is west of Newfound lake, and 4,000 meters east of Orange, and about 30 miles north of hopkinton.

Cardigan mountain state park is a place with a pretty big mountain. Cardigan mountain is around 3,200 feet tall. It has lots of big steep rock faces . It also has lots of trees and bushes. Another example of physical geography! on cardigan mountain is flowers, liken, and Mushrooms. Some other things worth mentioning are water falls, glaciers, and erratics that we sketched

Cardigan mountain also has lots of examples of cultural geography! Like the fire tower at the summit which is used to spot fires in nearby forests. There is also bridges and paths that people built on the trail. Another thing on cardigan mountain is plants and trees that are invasive or have been planted on the mountain. Also there are stone walls, campsites where we ate lunch, cairns which help people find the trail in the winter ,and a little bit of litter.
