Location of Cardigan Mountain Summit

. . My class went on a field trip to Cardigan Mountain. We hiked to the summit of it. Cardigan Mountain is in Alexandria, New Hampshire. The absolute location of the summit of Cardigan Mountain is North 43 degrees 38 minutes 58.4 seconds, West 071 degrees 54 minutes 51.8 seconds. The summit was North East of the summit of FireScrew mountain which was North 43 degrees 39 minutes 21 seconds , W71 degrees 54 minutes 39 seconds . The summit had a fire tower. Cardigan summit is also south of the Cardigan AMC lodge. The summit of Cardigan was about 3,155ft in elevation. Oct 17, 2021 -Clara Brooks D1-B3

The Place Cardigan Mountain

Cardigan mountain is a wonderful and unique place. The base of Cardigan includes a state forest and Cardigan AMC lodge. The AMC lodge has lots of space accommodating for visitors and students that want to hike Cardigan mountain and the trails around it. It also has an education program for schools to go during their field trips to the mountain. There are many trials for many different skill levels on the mountain and also below it. Towards the peak of the firescrew there is a graffitied cabin on top of the bare rocks and a few trees.

The summit of Cardigan is an amazing place with a great view. The rocky surface has a view of many mountains. On the mountain itself, Cardigan has many interesting things to see such as lichen, glacial erratics, and more. My class hiked the trails around the lodge. While hiking we found many interesting plants like cucumber root and Princess pine. We also stopped to visit a waterfall with a long drop down and a big basin. There was rushing waters and wet, flat, rocks. The whole time we were there we could experience a gorgeous blue sky and a light breeze. Cardigan mountain in Alexandria New Hampshire is beautiful to see and a joy to visit.

We were at Cardigan mountian for three days. On Sunday, Day 1, we mostly hiked on a nature trail. On Monday, Day 2, we hiked Firescrew and Cardigan Mountain. And last, on Tuesday, Day 3, we worked with compasses and did a very short nature trail.
