Where is Cardigan Mountian

Cardigan mountain is located in the country USA, the state New Hampshire, and the town Orange. The coordinates of the tippy top are 43 degrees, 38 minutes, and 59 seconds north AND 71 degrees, 54 minutes, and 53 seconds west. It is 3,155 feet tall. The regions of Cardigan mountain are hemlock trees, cucumber plants, and many others. The mountain is 44.1 miles away from Contoocook NH ( approximately 1 hour and 3 minutes away). To conclude everything that has been stated in this paragraph, Cardigan is an amazing location on this planet.

How Was The Trip

The Cultural geography of cardigan mountain is all of the man made things. There are 12 active trails in the cardigan mountial state park. Also, there is a beautiful man made pond at the bottom near the amc lodge. Unfortunately this pond has a spaghetti like parasite tape worm thingy. Some of the more noticeable man made structures are the pieces of trash/litter, stone walls, the celler holes, and the old car. All of these are great examples of cultural geography. One more piece of culture is the roads that we took to get to the mountain. Finally, all the outhouses, the solar panels, and the amc lodge are also great examples of cultural geography. It is near a lot of white pine and hemlock trees. Up a bumpy dirt road is the amc lodge which was our base camp. There are a lot of cool artifacts like stone walls, cellar holes, and the old car. In the cardigan mountain state park there is a trail called the back 80s, this trail takes you to welton falls. Welton falls is an amazing water fall that rolles around in a bowl and shoots into a rocky river. The water rushes down but at the bottom of the falls is is a slow going river. At the bottom near the man made pond there is a trail called the Nature loop that takes place right next to the river for the majority of the walk. That river is also slow going but can be fast (it can get you very wet). Cardigan has a very old fire tower standing on the top of it. All in all, Cardigan is a great place.

At Cardigan there are a lot of physical things there. A couple of examples are trees, mushrooms, plants, and animals. Also, there are a lot of different species/kinds of these biotic factors. Some of the most common trees at the mountain were white pines, hemlocks, and maples. There were tons of hemlocks and pines near the pond. About ⅛ of the way through the back 80s trail there were a lot of duck foot plants and wild cucumbers. Half way through the trail we reached Welton Falls. Welton falls is an amazing waterfall that takes place about ⅘ a mile out from the AMC lodge. On all of the trails we were surrounded with plants and some animals. We came across a lot of frogs and newts/salamanders but mostly all we saw were plants. To sum it all up Cardigan Mountain has a ton of nature.

We were there for three days, day1 wednesday , Day 2 thursday, and day3 friday.
