Day 1

On the first day we all huddled around Mr Woolner´s car waiting for the bus. While we waited for the bus, all of us that had to, used the restroom. Once we got on the bus, Mr Woolner took attendance and we took off. It was a long ride there. When we got there, we all got into a big circle around the AMC leaders. They lead us in a couple of games like mountain baseball (nothing like acutal baseball). We then got into our groups of 7ish and played some name games. We walked a little bit down the back 80s trail talking about good leaves to use as toilet paper until we came across the wild cucumbers. At the wild cucumbers we sketched the star-like plant and played the clothespin game. After that embarrassing game of proving your stupidity and blindness, we continued down the trail until we were within 500 ft of Welton Falls. We had a snack near a ledge. Soon after, we hiked down to the bottom of the falls. It was beautiful. We ate lunch for about 20 minutes and listened to the hemlock story. After what felt like hours of hiking we found the geo cashe and played some games. We then made it to the dirt road hoping for the promised mc donalds. At the end of the dirt road we played a river crossing game and crossed the stream. Finally we made it back to the AMC lodge and waited on the bus while playing red light green light. When the bus got there we hopped on and took attendance. Before we started moving, we all got some swedish fish, and started our assent back to HMHS.

I chose regions for day one for a lot of reasons. The theme regions are based on big groups of the same species, objects, or plants that are all together in one area. One was that Mr Woolner told us all an amazing story about the regions of the hemlocks. Another reason was that there were a lot of different regions that we came across like the region of wild cucumbers we stopped at in the beginning of the day. A fourth reason is that we hiked to the Welton falls region and stayed there for a while. The final reason was because we talked about the regions of different plants/objects on the hike an awful lot. To sum up everything that has been stated, Cardigan Mountain has a lot of regions that can teach us all about that theme of geography.
