On day three we arrived at Cardigan still tired from yesterday, and the morning mist still flooded the air. We talked for a bit about what we would be doing, but my group stayed still for a while and played the caterpillar game. The caterpillar game is like red light green light but the goal is to grab the caterpillar and make it back to the start. (the caterpillar was stuffed.) But when we did start hiking, we took it easy on the trails and took the nature walk. A little bit through we stopped to sketch by a river, and my friend and I found an old concrete dam. We finished the nature walk and hurried over to a campsite where we were taught to use a compass. We played a game with the compasses where our leader shouts a direction and what you will find if you get it right. For instance, north 70 degrees you can find a old rock wall from the hemlock tree. We climbed through long grass up a steep hill for what felt like hours but when we made it to the top we found a blue old rusted car and a pulley for what we think was for an old ski hill. The car was rusted to a brown tint and glass was shattered on the ground. The seats had no fabric left, all there was was large metal springs. We spotted googly eyes on a tree stub and decided it was time to go back to the campsite for lunch. We ran through the brush down the steep hill and back to the campsite to have lunch.
