This is a picture of my hiking group hiking Cardigan Summit.
In relative location, Mount Cardigan is East of the center of the town Orange. Cardigan is also West of Belle Island. If you want to get from AMC Cardigan Lodge, you should hike to the West which will take you to the Mountain. In Absolute location, the summit of Cardigan is North, 43 degrees, 38 minutes, and 58.2 seconds, and West, 71 degrees, 54 minutes, and 50.5 seconds.
Cardigan Mountain is a very bare mountain. Near the bottom of Cardigan, there was a range, where it was a Deciduous Hardwood forest. But when you hike up higher it becomes an Evergreen range. During the middle of the hike, we passed a waterfall aswell. One thing that was interesting was that when the terrain got rocky, you could feel the weather getting colder.
When you begin the hike you can tell it has a lot of cultural geographies because people made the trail. Once you make it to the top of Cardigan there is a fire tower that people made, which is a sign that long ago people must have claimed, or discovered it and over time more and more people added on, making different trails or paths leading to the top.
Our trip to Cardigan was a three day trip. We left Sunday the 29th of September, stayed on Monday, the 30th,and left Tuesday the 1 of October.
