Adventures of Cardigan:Day 2 Regions

We did 3 days in the mountains. I already talked about the first day, but here is the second. To start the day we had breakfast which was eggs, bacon, hash browns, and muffins. Soon after breakfast, we started our day. Our day consisted of many rocks being climbed and many great views being seen. We went to our rooms after making our lunch. My lunch was a ham and cheese sandwich. Our group went down and to the right after leaving the lodge. We got to our first intersection at about 12 of the way there. We stopped and played a little game. The game consisted was based around looking everywhere in the forest: up, down, and in the middle. It was cool for the time we played.

After the game we got into real hiking. It was tough going up slippery rocks with wet boots. We went through many regions one being the northeastern woodland zone. I kept slipping and falling. But we were able to get far. At about 2,100 feet we had a small but beautiful view of the foliage in New Hampshire. We made a good waypoint there. When we got to 3,000 feet we were all starving. Once at one of the summits, someone wanted to keep hiking to get to the real highest summit. It was not a bad idea but when you have not eaten in 5 hours, you kind of get hungry. We had finally made it to the alpine zone. The alpine zone consisted of short trees and bare rock. The way down was mentally and physically a challenge. Every five seconds someone would say “red light.” It was so ridiculously annoying. I had to listen though. We eventually got to the bottom and we all did a quick brief.
