Day one of our adventures to Mt. Cardigan, we took a bus to Alexandria. The bus ride was long and pretty uneventful. I tried to sleep on the way there, but the movement and bumpiness made it unsuccessful. We got there right before 10:00 am. We got off the bus and got in a circle on the upper field. We started to do a complicated version of Rock, Paper, Scissors. That was pretty cool, but before long we had gone up to our bunk to put stuff away and get ready for our first hike of many. We got our layers and left the lodge.
Our group moved a lot and was lead by Garrett and Mr. Woolner. Right as we started, we took a left out of the lodge to meet up at a large rock. We went up this trail and took a right. Only to find ourselves taking a soggy sketch of a cool leaf. This leaf was some type of maple tree. It was not long before we took a WAM ( Water Appreciation Moment). The WAM was for making it close to Welton Falls. We were pretty close to a long, cold stream before we took our first snack break. I remember seeing logan eat a Cheezit from the ground. We did not take to long for the snack break and went to the top of a tiny hill. We were officially 500 ft from Welton falls. We were very close when we encountered a narrow part of a cliff of dirt. We eventually got to Welton falls. The water was moving very fast and looked cold. It was worth the hike. It was a very cool waterfall. We saw a cool angle from the balcony that was rotting away. Later on that night we went to eat dinner and a night hike. The night hike was very dependent on the person in front of you, if they had left the group then you would have left the group which was taking a hike at 7:30 pm. We all got in line and followed Garrett. He took us to a place we had been earlier on that trip. It was a campsite where we all sat down and talked. We talked about how when you enter a room that is dark from a room that was light your pupil becomes bigger and when you leave that room your pupil will become smaller. All in all, day one was pretty lit.
