I went to Cardigan Mt in Orange NH the latitude is North 43 degrees 38 minutes and 58.3 seconds. The longitude is west 71 degrees 54 minutes and 51.18 seconds. Cardigan mt is next to Bristol and Alexandria the AMC lodge is at the bottom of the mountain. The lodge is next to solar panels and a pond It’s a one hour long drive to the mountain. It’s also close lake winnipesaukee and the top has a fire tower the mountain is next to firescrew in the woods there is mostly hemlock trees and a couple different deciduous trees.
Cardigan mountain is like no other mountain you'vr seen before because it has no trees or dirt on the top of it because humans lit the trees on fire and then heavy rain came and washed away the soil (human invironment interaction). Hiking throgh the woods is amazing because you can find somany amazing things like waterfalls,streams,old basments and you can learn lots of facts if you go with a AMC guide. Another great thing about about it is theres a ton of hiking trails to go on and on those trails you can hike other mountains next to it like firescrew.
AMC lodge is very cool because you can swim durring summer and in the winter you can go snowshoeing (I think). Cardigan lodge has so many great things to do and many places to go like you could put you stuff in the mud room or you could play game near the fire place or you could be in your bunkroom and there is still lots of places to go. Outside is even better because there are lots of things to do like you could go on a nature loop and look at the macro invertebrates in a stream or you could run around in the field or have a fire in the firepit and its so close to the mountain that you could hike all of the trails quickly. Plus the food is great and if you go you will have a great time.
Our trip to cardigan was three days long and we were there Sunday the 29th of September, Monday the 30th of September, Tuesday the 1st of October.
