Movement
On October 2, 2019, the Seventh graders at Hopkinton Middle High School went on a trip to Mount Cardigan. This seventh-grade class ended up experiencing one of the five themes of geography before we even arrived at the mountain itself. This theme was movement. An example of movement is we found out who our hiking group instructor is and their ideas for our team-building exercises which they brought from there home towns and separated into these groups do exactly that. Our instructor moved from Hopkinton NH to become an environmental education instructor.
The exercise my instructor had us do was, we had to fold a bunch of bandanas into a ball throw the ball around and eventually end on the last person. Later, we started on a very short hike which was only about 1.4 miles. This hike took a lot longer than it should have because we had to constantly stop and do sketches and activities. This hike took around 2-3.5 hours. After the hike, we had about an hour of free time to do what we wanted. Most people just hung around and played games. After this we had dinner.
Dinner was macaroni and cheese with salad. We also had brownies for dessert. After dinner, Mr. Woolner read the group a story about the pirate black beard. After the story, we went to bed and that ended our day. .
