Cardigan Day 1

On Cardigan day one we got there and took all of our stuff off the bus, and played games with the “tour guides.” After that we got into groups and started hiking to the waterfall. One the way we took a wooded trail. We were changing the environment by walking on a man-made trail and matting down the dirt and leaves and pine needles. We took some sketches on the way to the falls as well. We stopped at a river crossing to eat lunch on our way to the falls. As we were hiking it got pretty hot and so I think the environment changed us because we had to put on and take off layers. When we got to the falls it was very beautiful and we took some more sketches of the falls as well. After we left the falls our “tour guide” Blinky taught us a game where one person has a stick and another puts there hand on the person with the sticks hand and you would have to try to catch the stick before it falls. This is a example of Movement because we played this game all through the trip. Hiking back from the falls took a lot less time than it took to get there. After we crossed the river again Blinky said that we were allowed to throw rocks into the river for two minutes. So our group changed the environment again by picking up rocks and throwing them into the river. Hiking back and very close to the Lodge we stopped to sketch an old cellar of a now nonexistent house and then got right back to the lodge for free time. During free time we played spike-ball and Noah and I dominated against everybody else (we were undefeated). When dusk turned to dark it was time for dinner which was lasagna and mac n cheese. Once dinner ended the stars were just peeking out so Blinky took our group to play some games and look at the constellations. After our star-walk we had a little more free time where we talked with our friends and then Mr. Woolner read us a story about Blackbeard the cutthroat pirate. Then it was lights out and bedtime.
