Location: Cardigan mountain is a mountain in Alexandria, New Hampshire. When we went there, we went to the lodge, latitude and longitude was 4338'59.6" and 07152'42.6". And we hiked to a waterfall. (39'26.3",7151.5) Then on the second day when we were supposed to climb Cardigan, but my group only made it to Firescrew. (4339'and 7154'26.2) But everyone else got to the summit, 43.64890 and 71.9139. There was a lot of physical geography at Cardigan. There were mountains, rivers, trees, pretty much anything you would see in nature. And we spent pretty much our entire trip outside. We sketched some physical geography also. I think the all time goal was to study and recognize physical geography. In the beginning it looked all the same, but as we got closer to the top, it started to look different.
It was definitely a better learning experience to go to cardigan because you got to really get the experience of being there, which made the learning much more clear. We were able to see the waterfall, and feel the temperatures, and sketch the trees. Not just sit in a classroom and look at pictures or do research about it.
Cultural geography is something that has anything that involves people. Cardigan has a lot to do with people because people climb it almost everyday. Including us! We climbed it, it was part of the field trip. And people work there to which means that the mountain makes an impact on their lives almost everyday.
The people who helped us there were part of a company. My counselor was Garrett. He took us up the mountain, to the waterfall 39'26.3",7151.5, and was there when we first arrived at the lodge. They were very helpful and great leaders and the trip wouldn’t have been the same without them. They knew what they were doing, where they were going, were great guides, and produced many educational opportunities.
The first day we went to the waterfall, second day we hiked firescrew, a third day we went to a stream.
