Day 2 at Cardigan Day 2 Day 2 at Cardigan, we were expected to get up at 6:10. The teachers came around and knocked on the doors so we could go downstairs. Well, we slept through the knocking and woke up at 6:40. Mostly by the boys upstairs, They actually did wake up. But breakfast was at 7:30 so we had plenty of time.

Once we had breakfast we went upstairs to get ready to start the big hike. We seperated into our groups and began our hike up Firescrew mountain, this mountain was right next to Cardigan, so it would just be a short walk from summit to summit. It was a good long hike. We took some sketches, talked to people in group, and it was so nice and pretty up there. As we got closer to the top, there would be little spots where you could see tons of regions across acres of land. And when we made it to the top, there were even more regions. They were just sections of pretty land, but at the top of the mountain, you could see more than one of them. And they were so beautiful. It was also interesting because the higher we went, we noticed that there a lot less trees, and more rocky. And the top of Mount Cardigan was actually caught on fire in the past, I think by lightning, and so all the wood trees and plants were all burnt. Then heavy rain came and washed it all away until there was nothing but rock.

At the top of Firescrew was when we decided we would stop for lunch, so we did. But then people seemed to be tired, so we decided to just stop there and not climb Cardigan. On our descent, Garret let me lead the group a little ways down the mountain. Only about half way down, I had to use the bathroom. And so did Maddie. After what felt like ages the hike ended, and Maddie and I booked it to the bathroom, along with a few other girls that weren’t in our group, but were in the same situation.

Similar to the previous night we had free time, then had dinner, and then got ready for Mr. Woolner to read us stories. Later on we went to bed, and I was pleased to not nearly be scared to death by Brittney with candy.
