Day 1

The bus ride was long but fun. The staff introduced themselves as Gretchen, Blinky, Emily, and Garret. At the lodge, there were many people there to help us. The lodge was built by people. She said that we could go to our rooms to change and get our day packs because we were going to go on a 2-mile hike to Welton Falls. In my group, there was Me, Shaylee, Will, Tate, Conner, Amelia, Melita, Blinky, and Mr.Allen Conner’s dad. The groups have a lot of people in them.

We start the hike to the waterfall. We stopped by a river, had a snack, and did some sketching. We noticed that all of the rocks that were there were very round. The rocks there like this because of water erosion. We all noticed that the water moved faster when the river was narrower. The rock erodes faster when the water is moving faster. Later on, we cross another river on rocks. Most of the rocks that were there were made out of granite. then we were there. when we got there we went to a better view of the waterfall. We noticed that walls were made by humans so that other humans would not fall off. It was then time to head back to the lodge. Finally, we made it out of the woods and we were the first ones to the lodge. The staff said that one of the hiking groups had to set the tables for dinner.
