We woke up at around 6:30 on Thursday morning, and got ready for a day of hiking. After we were ready we went downstairs to eat breakfast. That morning we had eggs, bacon and blueberry muffins. After that, we got ready to hike and packed our day bags, then we met up with our hiking groups. We went outside and started our hike up cardigan.

While Hiking we learned about many different kinds of trees, such as the american beech, and the paper birch. As we continue hiking we noticed different regions of trees, such as alpine, we also noticed regions or parts of the mountain that was just fields, which at one point in time would have been farmlands. When we got closer to the top, we started seeing more rock and less trees. There was fog surrounding the top of the mountain when we got there, but we could see the fire tower that was built on the rocky top of Cardigan.

As we ate lunch the clouds all moved away, revealing a beautiful sight, different colored trees everywhere, other mountains, and even a small town. We then hiked about a fourth of the way down cardigan and started to go up firescrew. From there we could see the top of cardigan, and another hiking group eating lunch at the summit.

When we got back down to the lodge, we had free time to shower, read, take a nap, etc. After that we ate dinner. for that night we had pulled pork, . Once everyone was done eating, we all went outside and sat by a big fire. The amc leaders sang songs, taught us owl calls, and even played the ukulele. It started to rain so we went and side and read a few stories before going upstairs and going to bed.
