D1 B4 Green Group
On October 2, we started the day by putting all of our stuff on a trailer, and getting on a school bus, and driving an hour to the amc lodge for the next 3 days. When we got there we put all of our stuff in our bunk rooms, and then went outside with our day packs -which contained all the stuff we needed for the day’s hike- and got in a circle with the amc leaders. We played some group games like, pirate ship and throw the bandana ball. We then got into our hiking groups, and ate lunch.
After that we began our first small hike. On this hike we learned about some different trees, and leave no trace, and how it ties in with Human Environment Interaction, because although we are interacting with our environment, and we don't want to ruin it, so leave no trace helps us to remember to pick up after yourself, and help keep the environment alive, and clean. Then we played find the pencil in a patch of birch trees. We continued to hike up to welton falls. While we were there, we sketched the waterfall, and talked about welton falls.
After welton falls, we went back to the lodge, got our bunks set up and got ready for dinner. For dinner that night we had lasagna, and mac-n-cheese. After we ate and cleaned up, we went on a night hike. We came to a campsite after about 5 minutes of walking, and sat down. Our leader, Emily, gave us all crayons, and we had to guess what color it was. We then went back to the lodge, got in our pajamas. Mr.Woolner, our geography teacher, read a story for the next hour, and after that we went to bed.
