Route to Cardigan Mountain from Hopkinton, NH
On Sunday, we brought our luggage to the school, got on the bus and drove one hour to Cardigan Lodge. After we got there, we played games and met our educator. Then we went to our rooms to see what it looked like and put our sleeping bags on our beds and got our hiking stuff on. The hike was rocky. During the hike we saw Hemlock trees (which look like pine trees) and a huge mushroom. A baby black bear ran across the hiking trail and we ran away terrified because that means the mother bear will be coming after it. The educator kept telling us about a plant that tastes just like a cucumber. She pointed out the Indian Cucumber and we ate it. After the hike we went inside to change and then had a delicious spaghetti dinner. We played games after dinner and then went to bed.
