Color group- Yellow

It all started when we got on the bus, it was a noisy ride. After what felt like 2 hours(it was actually 1 though) we were finally there. We played some games and they were surprisingly fun. Next, we listened to instructions and then went inside and claimed our bunks while we also got ready for the day ahead. We then got into our groups, I was in Garrett’s group, which consisted of Maddie, Chase, Brayden, Tommy, Kennedy, Bronson, Logan, RJ, and me.

We went over to a section in the field and ate a delicious lunch while sketching Cardigan lodge. We started our hike to Welton Falls. We took our first stop at the only hawthorn tree that is known in that forest. The next stop we took was this old rock foundation, we took a sketch there as well. The next sketch I took was a starflower, this was one of my favorite sketches. We took a stop at a stream and had a snack and took a sketch. Then the next stop we took was “death point” which was very cool, following that was Welton Falls.

We then started our way back, which was basically the same thing as before. We had one hour of free time that I mostly spent organizing my bunk, I was on the bottom. I created a blanket fort around my bed, mostly for heat purposes. The rest of the time I was down in the cozy area watching hair be braided. We then listened to the “dinner conversation” and we felt motivated to beat session 1 in food waste. We had lasagna for dinner and brownies for dessert. We measured our food waste and we only had half a pound, we set our goal to ¼ of a pound for the next night.

We got ready for our night walk, it was very scary because I am nyctophobic, but I still enjoyed the caterpillar exercise. Afterward, we heard a story about Blackbeard, it was interesting, but I was very tired until we went into our rooms, and my room wouldn't be quiet! But after a while, I finally was able to go to bed.

Human-Environment Interaction-

Well, first of all, I would say that the AMC lodge is an example of the Humans changing the environment, as humans built it were there used to be just land. I would also say the trails going up Cardigan is an example as humans created the trail and they also groom it. On the other side of things, the environment changes us because it makes us dress in a certain way. For example, if the environment didn’t affect what we wear, we could wear anything we wanted, but if the temperature is hot or cold, you either have to wear lightweight clothes or wear lots of layers.
