DAY ONE
Day one we got on the bus at 9:30 and headed to Cardigan lodge. When we got there after a bus ride full of singing and candy we got a snack. We were traveling to a new location, Cardigan Mountain. Moving locations is an example of the five themes of geography actually. Was thinking of the five themes now as we were traveling locations and realized I was passing many regions like a hemlock forest or a birch biome. Next we played some group games like one that consists of throwing a bean bag and running were it lands. This game was fun we had to move locations so much in this game left, right and left again.
After a while of games we got to see we’re we were going to spend the night, our bunk rooms. We dragged our bags up the stairs and started to unpack. We saw our bunk mates, then got ready for our hike to the waterfall. We met up in our hiking groups. Then we checked to see if we had all our supplies. Then once we all were ready we started off with our bags packed and water bottles full. We hiked for a while then stopped to sketch and then hiked for a while and stopped to sketch over and over again. After awhile of hiking we made it to the waterfall, it was so pretty you could just hear the water splashing. The waterfall was an example of location it was under a gigantic rock you could go right next to. The region around us was many hemlocks and other kinds of trees we learned about. But then all of a sudden a counselor drops there papers in the water, in shock he when down and started moving the papers closer with the long stick he had found. Next we had a snack and it was time to head back. Once we had hiked up for a while we were back to the lodge! Home sweet home.
We had some free time and hung out with all our friend then it was dinner. For dinner we had spaghetti and meatballs and don’t forget the yummy garlic bread. With our legs tired and our stomachs full we went upstairs took a shower, got in pjs and headed down stares for a story. We ended our story at 9 pm and went up to our bunks to settle down for bed. We were told to go to bed when Mrs. Roberts walks in with tons of candy we got given to pieces of candy and went to bed soon after. Overall my first day at cardigan was amazing I got to see so many examples of movement and see what it's like to see in real life.
