My Amazing Cardigan Experiance

Location of Cardigan

I went on a field trip to Cardigan mountain and had lots of fun hiking up cardigan. The location of cardigan is quite interesting. The town of Orange is west of Cardigan mountain and is East of Belle Island. Part of the mountain is actually a part of Orange. Cardigan is exactly one hour away from Hopkinton Middle Highschool, which is 41.4 miles away. The latitude for cardigan is, 43° 38’58.31” and the longitude is, 71°54’51.18”. The exact elevation is, 3,120ft. Cardigan lodge is an hour and two minutes away from Hopkinton Middle Highschool. The latitude for the lodge is, 43°38’59.3” and the longitude is, 71°52’41.6”. The elevation is 1,403ft. That is the location of Cardigan Mountain.

Cultural:

The AMC Lodge has many aspects for you to enjoy. Those include delicious meals and fun nature walks. If you stay at the AMC Lodge you are for sure going to have a good time. The bedrooms are cozy and comfortable and I loved being with all of my friends. The campfire was definitely a highlight. Scary stories, songs, and even games. I personally had a blast. Those are the cultural aspects of the AMC Lodge.

Physical:

Most people would say the hike up Mount Cardigan is easier and slower than other trails which can be correct. The elevation of Mount Cardigan is approximately 2,000ft meaning it’s almost a 3 mile hike. Once you have made it to the top you can see the AMC Lodge on the side closer to the fire tower. The view is something worth seeing. Next to Mount Cardigan you can see the fire screw trail. This trail is a lot shorter than Mount Cardigan so if it’s a rainy day you can still see a lot from the top of fire screw. Those are the physical aspects of Mount Cardigan.

My trip to cardigan lasted 3 days(Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday) It started September 29th and ended on October 1st. On the first day we went on a small hike. On the second day we went up cardigan mountain. On the third day we went on a nature walk.
