Day 3

On day three it was October 1st. When we woke up we went downstairs and had breakfast. For our last day we had french toast and hot chocolate. Once we were finished our breakfast we went on a small nature walk and we saw people by a creek, walked over a bridge, used gps, sketched trees, and saw a bear box. Towards the middle of the small hike we had a scavenger hunt. Our leader gave us each two cards with plants we would find on the nature walk.

We walked from the beginning of the back 80 loop and made it back to the beginning. That was the theme movement. It was pretty fun. One of our favorite discoveries were a tree with a disease and indian cucumber. Around lunch time we stopped on a big log and had our sandwiches. Not so long after that we got back from the walk and had to take the mud off of our boots. We walked to the pond that had a very unique shape like a hat and collected water bugs so we could identify them. Us moving from the lodge, to the pond was another example of movement.

Not so long after that, someone walked into the woods and got chased by bees! Everyone ran away from the area as fast as we could. The whole group decided to stay over by the cabin. Our leader got some water from the pond so we could test the pH which was really fun. After a little while we free’d the bugs and got ready to leave the camp. Everyone was so sad to leave Once we got on the bus we sang songs and made it back to the school.
