Day 1

On the first day of the Cardigan trip it was Sunday September 29th. I got to the school and put my belongings in the trailer and went on the bus. On the way to the lodge we sang a lot of songs and that included Christmas songs. When we finally made it to the Lodge we all went outside and did some activities and figured out what our groups were. Once we figured our groups we put our stuff inside our room and got ready for our first hike. One of the main regions i noticed is the princess pine region. There were so many princess pine plants. There were so many leaves on the ground is When we were hiking we saw a baby bear, bear box, birch trees, maple trees, hemlock maple trees, princess pine, and a strange orange caterpillar. Another region we were in was a hemlock region.

On the small trail we were on there were so many hemlock trees! Our instructor taught us about different trees and how to work a gps so we could determine the latitude and longitude. We also did a bunch of sketches along the way. After the hike was over we went back to the cabin and had dinner which was spaghetti. Mr. Woolner had us sit down on the comfy couch and he read us a story.

After the story everyone was tired so they head up to their room. My friends and I were silently talking and then Mrs. Roberts knocks on the door and offers us candy. We were confused at first but it’s candy so it was hard to say no. After the candy we all fell asleep. That was the adventures of day 1.
