Hiking up Cardigan on Day 1

Day 1 Our day one at Cardigan was very fun and exciting. We first got on the bus early to head to Alexandria, Nh. After about an hour, we reached our destination at the AMC Lodge. We then went to meet our instructors, mine was Emily. We did a quick sketch of the lodge and packed our bags for our light hike. When everyone was ready we all set off on the trail for the light hike. When we entered the AMC Cardigan Reservation region which was right next to the Welton Falls State Forest, we did sketches of leaves, snakes, and trees. A quarter into our hike, we saw a black bear cub and had to move along slowly so we wouldn’t alert the mother. We did more sketches and used the viewfinder after that and then came to a stop. We ate snacks and then packed up to head back. When we were almost there, we stopped to do one more game. We played the identify a tree game with a partner. We eventually reached the AMC Lodge and got into a circle to do a quick share before we had free time and dinner. After that, we played an echolocation game with our group.
