Day 2

Region

Our class started their full day of staying at the AMC Lodge by eating breakfast, an assortment of foods such as bacon, French toast, honey dew melon, orange juice and hot chocolate. Do these foods separate us from other countries, or Regions? Well for example for breakfast we eat foods like scrambled eggs and as said before bacon, whereas other countries like Japan eats white rice, pickled vegetables, and Miso soup which is a mixture of mushrooms, potatoes, seaweed, onion, shrimp, fish, clams, and sliced daikon. After that we prepared for the big hike up Mt Cardigan packing lunch, sandwiches and apples then we headed out. As we were hiking up the trail we drew sketches of animals and plants, but the best sketch was when we were halfway through and sketched the view overlooking the state of NH, which is a region within the region of New England. The sight looked amazing the way the sun overlapped with the bright blue sky and how the light reflected onto the trees, not many mountains offer this view but boy, it was an awesome sight to see. When we arrived at the summit of Cardigan Mountain we ate lunch, which were sandwiches, and realized that the landscape of the summit is very bare with some small shrubs and a puddle. Most mountains have leaves and trees at its summit, but not Cardigan. The top of Cardigan also has another amazing view almost like the last one but bigger, from here one can see the AMC Lodge, the town of orange, and mirror lake. After that we hiked back down to where we started, playing games and sketching more plants and animals on the way down. When we got back to the AMC Lodge we ate dinner which was tacos. And for dessert, banana bread pudding.
