When we first got close to the lodge, we could see the beautiful bare top of the summit. When we got there, it was even better. There was two humps, one slightly smaller. The bigger one is Cardigan and the smaller is Firescrew. There were tons and tons of trees. Lots of ash trees. Lots of hemlocks, lots of maples, lots of beach trees, and even more. There was a prettu even amount of both coniferous and desituous trees.

Cultural

The cadigan AMC lodge is a big white building with lots of windows. There is a tall brick chimney sticking out, too. The roof has three points, and the shingles are dark grey. There is a deck with a table, an umbrella and some chairs. In its yard, it is mostly grassy with a couple stoned areas. There is a fire pit with logs and adorondike chairs all around it. That is pretty much it for the outside. Now for the inside. When you first walk in, it is a mud room where we put our hiking boots. There are cubbies and benches. Then you round a corner and go up one flight of stairs, and you get to the main area. This is where we ate, played games, listened to stories, etc. First looking out you see tables and benches, that’s where we eat. If you keep walking and turn a corner you see where we pack our lunches buffet style. Then all the way in the back corner is comfy chairs, couches, a fire place and board games. This is where we debriefed, listened to stories, played games and relaxed. Then if you go up another flight of stairs you get to the girls floor. There are bunches of rooms and a hallway that leads to the bathroom. My room was small, but cozy in a good way. There were two sets of bunk beds and one normal bed. Bell slept on the normal one, I slept on one of the top bunks, Brooke slept on top of the other one, and Amelia and Sydney were below us. There were silky red curtains to the two windows we had, one looking out to the parking lot and the other to the fire pit. The bathroom had lots of stalls and showers paralell to each other. Then, up another flight was the boys floor, which for obvious reasons, we weren't allowed on. Cardigan was really beautiful. I loved it.

We were there for three days. On the first day we went to a waterfall. On the second day, we hiked the mountain. On the third day, we played games.
