Red group -
Day two: Reigons
On day two, we started by my group setting the table. We ate a nice fulfilling breakfast; eggs and sausage. Then, we got dressed in nice warm clothes. After that, we split into our groups and met on the deck. Soon later, we started up the mountain.
We found a cool cellar hole and explored a little in it. Then we just kept hiking for a while. We stopped for a snack and layer break, and we discussed ash tree and emerald bug things that eat them. We powered through some big steep hills. Following that, we came to a stop at a ginormous boulder. It was HUGE!!! Then, we hiked some more and we started to see the tops of trees. (this is an example of reigons) We could see the summit too! G squad was ecstatic. We sat down on a rock platform and ate some trail mix. The ground was now all rock. (another example of reigons.) Climbed a couple more hills and drooled at the veiw. (it was seriously amazing) We stopped for lunch and saw the other groups taking a group photo on the top of cardigan, we were only on firescrew. But, jokes on them because we got to see a really cute puppy on the way to cardigan. Haha. All of a sudden, it got really steep. (yet another example of reigons) We linked arms and got through it together. We reached the summit of cardigan!!! Yippee!! We took waypoints, sketched and snacked. Then just like that we left. We stopped at PJ’s ledge and then kept going down. Stopped at a bridge, and kept going down. My ears were popping. Madi dropped her sketchbook in the water. We stopped to see the big ash tree and then kept going down.
Finally, we got back to the lodge. Free time, I took a nap. We got called down for dinner and had tacos. They were interesting. In the middle of dinner I started to get really bad hives. I shrugged it off and then my group cleaned up. We got our stuff on for the campfire. At the campfire, we sang songs, did birdcalls, and listened to stories. I was still really itchy, but again shrugged it off. We went inside to get out pajamas on and shower and the red bumps all over my body were thriving. They looked like little tiny tomatos. They hurt. I showed Mrs. Roberts and she gave me meds. I started to fall asleep when we were listening to Frank Woolner’s stories, because of the medicine. Bell basically had to carry me to my bed, I was snoring. I remember nothing else except for getting amazing sleep
