My theme for Day 1 is Human Environment Interaction because we found a small place to draw and we had to navigate around trees while blindfolded. This has to do with HEI because while navigating we had to use our senses like smell,(smell of the trees) and touch(feeling around to find out the type of tree(or bark).
On day 1 of going to Cardigan we had a super long bus ride which was about 1 hour and 30 minutes. To get through the long bus ride, a lot of us started singing songs (I don’t know how the bus driver felt about it though).
We got there and chucked our belongings near the front of the lodge. Everybody was most excited to see our rooms but of course; that was one of the last things to do. We were introduced to the guides and played fun games such as a game about baseball, but in Alaska. Which wasn’t really like baseball but it was really fun! My group was with Garrett and our name was Gary and the Trail Snails, (don’t ask why).
My bunkmates and I, which were Bell, Sydney, Cassidy, and Amelia B. went to our room; turns out I was able to have a top bunk, which everyone fights for. We got our hiking gear on and met outside. My group met near the trees, Garrett told us that we were hiking to a waterfall. I promised myself I would take a whole bunch of pictures but my camera died right as we got to the waterfall. Our group hiked back, myself kind of disappointed to the lodge where we had a wonderful spaghetti dinner! I was super full but I thought to myself, maybe one more bite won’t hurt. Our groups met back up outside, we were covered in gear because it was FREEZING. We watched the stars and constellations, and heard a blackbeard story before bed. Before we knew it, everyone in our bunk room was asleep. Until tomorrow...
