What I saw and did on Day 3
Now I will tell you about My time at Cardigan on Day 3. This was the day we hiked firesrew and Cardigan mountain. Today was the main hike.
The Day All Planned Out: We all woke up at 6:15. Then we headed downstairs for breakfast. Breakfast was french toast. Then we headed back up stairs to get ready for the day. Next my group went and headed outside. She told us that we were going to go on a nature walk, I was very excited. She also told us that we would be collecting animals in the water. When we were just starting the trail our group decided to flip some logs over. On my first log i flip over i find a red back salamander it was so cool. After that we saw a dam with a fallen tree over it and then we tested the ph of the water and it was an 8 which is pretty good. After that blinky told us we were going to walk by ourselves for a little bit in the woods. When it was my turn, I found another 2 red back salamanders and then once the whole group met up we headed to a break spot. At our snack we finished a whole bag of m and ms and ores they were very good. Then we headed to a river tate feel in 3 times thankfully he was not wearing cotton. First we sketched a certain area of the river. Then we caught little animals in the river i caught a salamander. Then we started to head back and we tried a indian cucumber plant. Once we got back I had free time I clean up the room. Then right before we got on the bus, I found a monarch caterpillar and we named it wooly. Then it was time to go. We said bye to Blinky and then we got on the bus and headed back to school.
How I learned about Regions: Regions are areas that are defined by a characteristic. When we were hiking Cardigan there we different regions as we got higher and higher. For example at the base of the Cardigan the region was a deciduous forest. But as we climbed higher the region turned into an evergreen forest. But when we were almost at the top of the mountain there were just shrubs which are mini plants. When we had climbed to the very top it was just a bare rock summit.
That was my last day at Cardigan mountain. I had a blast every day. You learned what my day 3 was about and what regions were. Finally I would like to give a special thanks to Mr.Woolner for making this amazing trip possible.
