Location at Cardigan Lodge
This Cardigan AMC Lodge is located on the east side of Cardigan Mountain. The Latitude is 43,39’, 49.6” north. The longitude of the lodge is 71, 43’, 12.8” west. The altitude is 1,104 ft. Cardigan lodge is located in Alexandria, Nh. Half of the Cardigan Mountain is also in Alexandria, and the other half is in town of Orange. The Cardigan Lodge is approximately an hour and a half away from Hopkinton New Hampshire.
Place at Cardigan
Cardigan Mountain AMC lodge is two stories high with green shutters. Surrounding the lodge is a forest, with trails leading to different places, one of which is Cardigan Mountain. At the lodge they had little rooms with bunk-beds. The first floor is where you keep storage, the second floor is where you eat, play games, and hang out. The next floor up is where the girls floor, and the top floor is the boys. They serve two meals there, and you pack a lunch for on the hike you did that day. On the second night there, there was a campfire where we sang songs and skits. Cardigan AMC lodge is a fun place.
Cardigan mountain is not too long of a hike. It is a three miles with a bare rock summit. The view is beautiful in fall, with the red, orange, and yellow leaves. There are many different kinds of trees on the mountain including balsam fir, birch,eastern hemlock, American beach, and many more. Along the way there are little streams, and more moss the higher you get. Cardigan mountain if an amazing hike with gorgeous views.
We were at Cardigan for three days. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. That was from, October second, to the fourth.
