The bus ride to the lodge was long. After many winding roads we finally came to an old-fashioned store that read -Mt Cardigan-. We took a small road off to the side it appeared that at last we were there. But that did not happen for about another 15 minutes, going up a dirt road the whole time. The bumpiness was very uncomfortable. Sometimes Mother Nature is cruel. The lodge was pretty big. On the left and right side there was a grassy field, the back was mostly just woods, and the front was the parking lot. We thought that we might be able to hiking right away, or set up our rooms at the very least, but we spent about our first three hours playing in the recreational space to the left side of the house. Finally, we went up and set up our rooms, a few of us switching places. After about another 30-60 minutes we finally got to go hiking. We went on a nature hike. That was where we found out just how much sketching we were going to do on this trip. The highlight was spending about 15 by a bridge going over a river, filled with rocks. It might not seem like much, but it was cool. When we got back we mingled around for a bit, had dinner, and went out on a night hike. It was pretty sketchy not having a flashlight when it was pitch black outside. I was glad that the person in front of me had some white to see. When we got back we finally got to lie down and rest.
