On Day 1 we took a bus to Cardigan Lodge at 8 am. We moved to Cardigan, which is an example of movement, one of the five themes of geography. The bus ride took at least 1 hour. Once we got there we played games like everybody's it for about 10 minutes so the adults could get our bags out of the trailer. We brought our things to Cardigan, another example of movement. Once we unloaded our stuff into our rooms we met up with our groups. I was with Gretchen's group. We were assigned the GPS' 9 and 10. We were hiking to Welton Falls, a waterfall in the region. It was probably a 2-hour hike at the most but since we were so slow it took about 4 hours. We took lots of waypoints and sketches, including a salamander, a bear box, and the bottom of a tree. We traveled across a river which most of us fell into because it was just so slippery. Us traveling to Welton Falls is another example of movement. Once we got to Welton Falls there was a small river at the bottom which and a big rock that most of us tried to climb and failed. On the way back we bumped into Pietra's group and said hi quickly. Then we played some games and hiked back. We had break time which is always fun. We were on set up duty so before dinner, we set the tables. Then we had a dinner of pulled pork, vegetables, and rice. Then we had sundaes for dessert. Then we played a couple of group bonding games and looked at some stars. Mr. Woolner read us a story and then we "went to bed."

Here is a drawing of the AMC, a small river at the bottom of the waterfall and a bearbox.

Back To Home. We were there for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
