My Cardigan Trip

Mount Cardigan is a beautiful place located north west west in Orange New Hampshire. It is not high elevated for the White Mountains, at about 3,156 feet high. In its surroundings you can see other White Mountains, with even the tallest, Mount Washington. Sure, it might not be the tallest or hardest to get up to, but it sure has a view at the semi-flat peek, when you are able to see down at the homes below to put to scale how high up you are.

Mount Cardigan was not just a mountain, but a way to signal for fires. The person lived a bit lower, near the peak, where lies an abandoned home, with graffiti on the door, but long ago, someone lived there to quickly be able to get to the summit and do his job. At the summit there was a fire tower to keep a lookout for fires at.

Tree Location

I chose to sketch this leaf from a Maple tree a few feet to the north outside my back door. It also is next to a flower garden and her potting bench. Its coordinates if on a map would be located at exactly 43.190547 degrees North, -71.632422 degrees West and 606 feet elevated.
