Cardigan, The Trip

It is located near Orange, and Belmont NH. The mountain is a bald top which means that the top is rock (no trees). For most mountains, this is from elevation but Mt.Cardigan is not tall enough to have this to be true can you guess why the top is bald? the reason this mountain is a big fire happened on top of the mountain.

On top of Mt. Cardigan you will find a 360 view of your local surroundings A lake, Some Windmills and lots of trees. There are also some nearby mountains such as Fireserw and some other ones I don't know what is called. Mt Cardigan is a bald top mountain (the top is just rock). The reason for this is a big fire happened on top of the mountain. This also happened to firescrew but that day was windy and it looked like a flaming twister. Also on top of Fire is a rare alpine bog! It was very interesting to see a small swamp on top of a mountain!

On our hike, we saw a place on the trail that we could see a line of older trees and rocks. This meant that these trees were along a stone wall that divided a Property (a field for farming). It was pretty cool! We stayed at the AMC Cardigan lodge nearby the mountain. I have never been to a place like it! There are 4 floors: The basement/boot room (1st), the main area/dining room(2nd), the girls floor(3rd), and the boys floor(4th). The bunks where different sizes and shapes. The one I stayed at had a twin and a twin bunk. There was a window we could open and a fan! It was the best sleep accommodations for a camping trip I ever had

We where there at cardigan for 3 days: Sunday the 23, it was sunny!,Monday the 24, it was sunny!, and Tuesday the 25, it was cold and rainy:(. Back to home
