The image above is an idea of what Christopher Columbus thought of the world. On the top if the image is India and on the bottom is spain and England. This map is like that because when colombus wanted to travel around to India, he not only wanted to find a quicker route, but he also wanted to prove that the world was much smaller than everyone thought it was (this is incorrect and what everyone though it was was much closer to the actual size than Columbus's estimate ). Many people think that Columbus proved that the earth was round, but in reality everyone already knew of the earth's spherical shape.

During his long and daring voyage, columbus encountered many obsticles including at one point when part of his crew thought they saw land but when they went up, there wasn't any land to be found. To this day, no one knows what it actually was. The beginning also took a very long time because one of the ships had triangular sailswhich could sail into the wind but at the same time weren't very fast.

The image above is a picture of the course that Columbus took while he was in the bahamas.

In my opinion, I feel that both Colunmbus and thge native americans thought poorly of eachother.

I Wonder if the native americans on the island knew of any other islands in the Bahamas.

When reading Morning Girl, I was surprised when I herd the native americans view of the story.

I wonder if any of tyhe native americans were scared by columbus's appearance.

Columbus's logbook tells us a lot about him and his voyage.

I Wonder if the library has a copy of Columbus's logbook.

I Wonder Question:

The image above is of Christopher Columbus's return voyage. Right in harbor on christmas eve (or possibly Christmas morning), the wind suddenly changed sending the Santa Maria spinning on it's anchor into some rocks. Soon after, the ship sunk down under the water of the sea. Luckly, no one died and the pinta arived just in time so they only had to leave 39 men on Hispaniola. After a long time, and when they were getting close to the Azores, there was a big storm and the Nina and Pinta got seperated. The Nina in very bad contition was forced to go to the Azores even though they belonged to Portugal. Once they were in tyhe harbor, Columbus decided that they should draw straws to see who had to go onto shore and ask for help. After they drew straws and Columbus drew the short straw he said "lets do best out of two". So they drew again and sure enough, he got the short straw again. When he went onto land,
